Fotosketcher

I've posted this photo before, but not doctored like this. There's a great website called Fotosketcher.com, and they offer a free software download that allows you to render your photographs as if they had been sketched.

I know that you photoshop users may not be impressed, but for us povs who can't afford it (or won't used pirated copies), software like this is a joy.

Kate on the Floor

I've been hard on Kate's sleeping positions (like when her arms are behind her as though she's been handcuffed). So, in the interest of fairness (fair and balanced), here's what she looks like when she naps on the playroom floor. How cozy is that? Look at those rosey cheeks! Look at all those princesses. Look at how her joints are all bent in normal positions.

Making Arrangments

One of my favorite things about being a parent is walking into a room and seeing scenes like these. You just wonder what's going through your daughters' heads as they arrange their toys.

I can only assume that the princesses dangling from the handles of my buffet are on display as an offering for a toy king kong.

Sleeping Comparison

Could you ask for a more peaceful scene than this? Genna, wrapped in her blanket, head on her princess pillow, her hands tucked beneath her cheek, piggy close by, and a spread of books around her (toe nails polished). I just want to curl up beside her and go to sleep.

But then you come across Kate and are confronted with her double (triple?) jointedness. How do her shoulders fold to enable her to sleep with both of her arms behind her? I'm afraid some gypsy circus is going to rumble by and enroll her to one of their shows.

Sam, the Ladies, and the Submarine

You've probably noticed that Sam hasn't featured prominently in my Disney posts. What do you expect from a five month old?

But just in case you were wondering what he was up to, here's a sampling.

He was busy charming the ladies (in waiting). But not charming their pants off, just their hats.

And though he was more concerned with placing everything he could in his mouth, he was quite entertained by the antics of the Finding Nemo cast in the Finding Nemo submarine ride. I think these photos need to be used in Disney advertisements. Anyone know an agent?

Exhaustion and Poses

What were the kids up to when not viewing princesses?

By and large, they were sleeping (or in the process of nodding off). Here we see the twins being carted about in the double jogger. Genna has succumbed to her exhaustion, while Kate maintains her vigil. She will not miss a minute of it. Horsey can attest to that.

Julia and Sam were troopers, but their little metabolisms couldn't keep them alert the whole time. Julia is looking spritely in her piggies, while Sam's (in the back of the stroller) bald head affords him no such style.

Kate wanted to pose for me. This is the smile she struck while we waited for the princess dinner.

Genna, too, wanted to have the camera commemorate her. She chose the classic pursed-lip-and-cross-eyed look. Can't beat that.

Astroblast

We served several tours of duty for Buzz Lightyear, operation code name: Astroblast. Emperor Zurg was our target each time. Operational satellite photos were taken of some of our missions.

In this first photo, you'll notice my mom manning the craft, with Kate and Julia serving as copilots. Mom seems to be trying to work the weapons system, and Kate as an observer. But their 'scores' (kill rankings) leave much to be desired.

These next to photos are of me with my copilots. You'll notice my intent gaze and masterful use of the blaster. You'll also notice how much my score improved. My copilots, however, didn't add much in the way of firepower. In the second photo, I've even taken off my coat, to be all the more unencumbered and lethal. That is dedication.

(where are these cameras by the way? I didn't even know they were taking any shots...and I feel like a dork, even if a valiant dork)

And then we have Andrea. Kelly seems to be enjoying the battle, along with Julia. But Annie, well, she and Sam haven't even bothered picking up their blaster. Instead, she seems to have spotted the camera and stares back in derision. Do you care nothing for galactic peace, Annie?
