Bear in the Refrigerator

The other day I was digging through my fridge for a snack, when I stumbled across this scene. Earlier, Genna had complained of not being able to find her bear. Well, we found it. The girls are always stuffing their 'friends' into odd places, but Genna has no idea how appropriate it was for her to place her polar bear in the refrigerator. Such subtleties are lost on a child who still insists that throwing her baby sister to the ground is a good idea.

I like how the bear seems to be eyeing that sausage, or whatever is in that package near him/her. Once, when he was little, Ian went through a phase of putting things in the freezer in bags of water, under the impression that he was freezing them in carbonite, like Han Solo. He got in trouble when he tried to thaw a bunch of pennies in the sink and they fell down the garbage disposal. This is a story that will continue to make me laugh until Max is old enough for similar hijinks.

That explains why Ian tried to lock me in the freezer at the grocery store the other night. He kept alternating between scuba-style breathing and a deep, arrogant "ho ho" laugh as he pushed me in. Now I know them as Vader and Jabba.

Happy Anniversary, by the way. I know you guys are already gone, and that this will therefore be read after your anniversary is over, but you can experience the warm glow of knowing that I hoped it was happy.

Alas, the sausage had already been eaten.

Thanks for all the well-wishing. The warm-fuzzies are in abundance.
